The Central Bank of Brazil (BCB) has reported that PIX transactions reached a new record high of 227.4 million on Friday, 6th. This represents a significant increase compared to the previous record of 215.2 million transactions set on 29th December 2022. The BCB attributes this growth to the increasing adoption of PIX by businesses and individuals, as well as the expansion of the service to new use cases, such as government payments and e-commerce transactions. PIX is a real-time payment system that allows users to send and receive money instantly using their mobile phones. It was launched by the BCB in November 2020 and has quickly become one of the most popular payment methods in Brazil. The BCB expects PIX transactions to continue to grow in the coming months and years, as more businesses and individuals adopt the service.
